Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 4 and 5 to take action on the representation given by the petitioner seeking (a) to pay arrears in rent from 01.01.2022 till 31.01.2023 at the rate of Rs.51,267/- with 18 percentage of interest (b) to pay the monthly rent at the enhanced rate on the 1st day of every English calendar month till date of vacating the office of the 5th respondent functioning at Door No.3/15, Medaiyandi Kovil street, KVR Thirumanamandapam, Thiruvengadam, Tenkasi District (c) to pay 18 percentage of interest for the belated payment of rent, (d) to pay the TDS amount of Rs.2,49,444/- and (e) to do the repair words as per the terms of rental agreement.

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The writ petitioner is the owner of the petition mentioned premises. It was let out in favour of the Government for running the taluk office. The rent payable to the petitioner was revised by the respondents in February, 2022. However, the rent is continued to be paid only at the old rate. That led to the filing of this writ petition.
3.The grievance expressed by the petitioner is genuine. The respondents have to necessarily conduct themselves as a model tenant. The respondents 1 and 4 are directed to coordinate between themselves and dispose of the petition mentioned representation. Mere disposal is not sufficient. There must be disbursal of the funds also. This exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
