By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2.The present petition is filed seeking for a direction to the second respondent to provide police protection to the petitioner and his family members.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner lodged a complaint with the Inspector of Police, Kumbakonam East Police Station, contending that he was running a business in a shop belonging to one Narayanasamy and the rental agreement expires on 01.12.2018. His further contention is that even after the death of Narayanasamy, he continued to do business in the same shop and on 28.01.2021, when he was out of station, the wife of Narayanasamy, broke the lock of his shop and took away https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.5733 of 2021 articles worth about Rs.3,00,000/- (Rupees Three Lakhs). This complaint was registered by the Inspector of police, Kumbakonam East Police Station, Thanjavur District, in Crime No.140 of 2021. 4.Now the present petition is filed seeking for police protection / assistance to take the articles from the house of late Narayanasamy.

5.Since the prayer sought for by the petitioner, cannot be granted and the writ petition is dismissed as devoid of merits. No costs.
