Advocate COMMON ORDER The prayer in these writ petitions is for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 3rd respondent to issue house site patta for the petitioners' respective property in Door No.11/5, 5/3 and 17, South Street, Thirubuvanam, Thanjavur District (Survey No.520/1,
Thiruvidaimaruthur, Thirubuvanam, Town Panchayat), by considering their respective representation dated 28.02.2019, 25.02.2019 and 28.02.2019.
2.Heard Mr.M.S.Suresh Kumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and Mr.V.Anand, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.
3.The petitioners, in order to get patta for the natham land in S.No. 520/1, Thiruvidaimaruthur, Thirubuvanam, Town Panchayat, where the respective petitioners have been residing for long years, have approached the 1st respondent District Collector by their representation dated 28.02.2019, 25.02.2019 and 28.02.2019. However, the same have not been so far considered. Therefore, these petitioners are before this Court.
4.I have heard the learned Government Advocate, who would submit that, the said request of the petitioners dated 28.02.2019, 25.02.2019 and 28.02.2019 would be considered by the respondents, especially, the 1st respondent District Collector and the same would be decided on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
5.Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for herein, this Court is inclined to dispose of these writ petitions with the following direction:
"The respondents, especially the 1st respondent is hereby directed to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 28.02.2019, 25.02.2019 and 28.02.2019 respectively and decide the same on merits and in accordance with law, by taking into account the long possession of the petitioners in the subject land, which, according to them, is a natham land, and decide the same with regard to grant of patta in the said natham lands to the petitioners and such exercise shall be undertaken by the 1st respondent, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.With the above direction, these petitions are disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
