ORDER

The prayer in the writ petition is for a Writ of Mandamus to direct the 3rd respondent herein to conduct the enquiry on the petitioner's application dated 07.02.2019 on the file of the 3rd respondent and dispose the same.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondents.

3. By consent of both sides, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that, she is the aged mother of the three children and she had filed a petition to the third respondent invoking the provisions of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, and the same is pending with the third respondent. However, the same has not been disposed of on merits so far and therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, who would submit that, the said petition filed by the petitioner would be decided and an order to that effect would be passed within a time frame by the third respondent, of course, after conducting enquiry.

6. Considering the submissions made by both sides, the writ petition is disposed of with the following direction: "The third respondent is directed to consider the petition filed by the petitioner to the third respondent and pass orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law, after conducting enquiry and after hearing the parties, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order."
