Respondents PRAYER: Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.02.2019 and to grant monetary benefit for the period i.e., from 17.08.2006 to 04.10.2010 to grant the Gift of 6 Gms. Gold Coin on the eve of Silver Jubilee of the TNPL Company held in 2009 and the consequential monetary benefit of Rs.260/- p.m., from 2009 on par with other employee and disburse the arrears within the time limit to be fixed by this Court.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

2. By consent of both sides, the writ petition is taken up for disposal.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has made a representation, dated 19.02.2019 to the second respondent for grant of monetary benefit for the period from 17.08.2006 to 04.10.2010 to grant the Gift of 6 Gms. Gold Coin on the eve of Silver Jubilee of the TNPL Company held in 2009 and the consequential monetary benefit of Rs.260/- p.m., from 2009 on par with other employee and disburse the arrears, but no order has been passed and hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition. Further, it would suffice, if the said authority is directed to dispose of the representation made by the petitioner.

4.Mr.M.P.Senthil, learned Standing Counsel submitted that the said representation will be considered on merits and in accordance with law.

5. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for in this petition and without going into the merits of the matter, this Court directs the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 19.02.2019 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible preferably, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is needless to say that the petitioner also address copy of the representation to the third respondent along with the order copy.

6. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions is also closed.
