Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner joined service as Office Assistant in the year 2006. He has now been promoted as Junior Revenue Inspector in March 2023.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that he is still being paid the pay of office assistant and not that of the promoted post. It appears that there are some issues to be resolved. The petitioner had been unauthorisedly absent earlier and the said period to be regularised. In my view, this is a mere paper work and can be done expeditiously.

4. PA(General) to the District Collector is directed to regularize the period of absence as per law and rules. It appears that the petitioner has not been paid for some of the months.

5. The Writ Petition is disposed with the following directions:- (I)The period of absence shall be appropriately regularised within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. (II)The petitioner's arrears of salary shall be paid within a period of 2/4

eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. (III)The petitioner's pay in the promoted post shall be correctly fixed and the same shall be paid from 01.07.2023.

6. The Writ Petition is allowed. No costs.
