ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking to quash the impugned show cause notice dated 28.07.2017 and re-issue passport to the petitioner by considering his representation dated 24.12.2022.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side.

3. The impugned order is a show cause notice where the petitioner has been directed to surrender the passport and submit his explanation as to how he had obtained Indian passport. An explanation also appears to have been given by the petitioner on 24.12.2022. Therefore, impugned show cause notice dated 28.07.2017 is set aside.

4. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the explanation submitted by the petitioner dated 24.12.2022 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of two (2) months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above observations. No costs.
