This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.10.2024 and grant patta in favour of the petitioner in respect of the lands in S.F.No.228 of Kumbakudi, Velayuthankudi Village, Thiruverumbur Taluk, Tiruchirappalli District, after excluding the Kulam Poramboke extent, within a period stipulated by this Court.
2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. Page No. 2 of 6
3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the subject property in S.F.No.228 originally belonged to the petitioner's parents. After their demise, when the petitioner approached the revenue authorities for transfer of patta and mutation of revenue records, the Village Administrative Officer informed that the land in S.F.No.228 had been classified as "Kulam Poramboke". On verification of the old 'A' Register and other revenue records, it was found that only an extent of 11.89 acres in S.F.No.228 had been classified as Kulam Punjai and the remaining extent is private land. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 17.10.2024 seeking survey and demarcation and for issuance of patta in respect of the eligible private land.
4. The Revenue Divisional Officer, after calling for reports from the subordinate revenue authorities, submitted a detailed report stating that only 11.885 acres in S.F.No.228 is classified as "Chinna Choza Mani Kulam" and the remaining extent of 24.71 acres in S.F.No.228 is dry land in the petitioner's possession and enjoyment, which is fenced and under cultivation. Even thereafter, no final order has been passed. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

5. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 17.10.2024 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the third respondent within a period of twelve weeks.
6. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 17.10.2024 and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The third respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by such decision, before passing any order. There shall be no order as to costs. [K.SURENDER, J.] 18.02.2026 JEN Index : Yes / No Page No. 4 of 6
