ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed to direct the respondents to take appropriate action based on the petitioner's complaint dated 1/4

22.01.2026 and CSR No.11/2026 to initiate the further action within time frame.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the de facto complainant who had lodged a complaint against her husband namely Sundar Rajan and his brother with respect to the dowry harassment and domestic abuse for which the second respondent has issued CSR No.11 of 2026. However, the second respondent police have not acted upon the same and further taken necessary steps to proceed with the investigation and sought for the indulgence of this Court.

3. The learned Government Advocate submitted that already a First Information Report has been registered in Crime No.7 of 2026 on the same day, on the basis of the petitioner's complaint against the brotherin-law of the defacto complainant namely Jeyakannan.

4. Heard either sides and carefully perused the materials available on record.

In view of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate that already a First Information report in Crime No.7 of 2026 has been registered as against the brother of the defacto complainant's husband, there shall be a direction to the second respondent police to conclude the investigation as expeditiously as possible and file a final report before the before the jurisdictional Magistrate within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
