ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking to direct the respondent to grant pension as per the scheme prescribed in the 7th pay commission and arrears of pension from 4th to 7th Pay Commission as grade - I, Officer based on the petitioner's representation dated 21.03.2019.

2. Mr. P.Gunaskearan, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondent.

3. By the consent of both parties, the writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. Though this petition has been filed for the larger relief, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner will be satisfied, if a direction is issued to the respondent, to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 21.03.2019.

5. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the respondent has already revised the scale of pay, but, however, the said representation is pending. He would further submit that the respondent would consider the said representation and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

6. Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer made by the petitioner and considering the submissions made on either side, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 21.03.2019 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.

7. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
