Heard the learned counsel on either side.
2. It is beyond dispute that survey No.18 Devakottai Town has been classified as "Oorani". It appears that it has been encroached.
3. The petitioner's counsel would allege that on account of growth of agitation, the said water body has become unidentifiable. If the water body has fallen into disuse on account of growth of vegetation, it is the duty of the fourth respondent to clear the same and the restore the water body to its original condition. The fourth 2/4
3 W.P.(MD)NO.4554 OF 2026 respondent shall conduct survey and coordinate with the fifth respondent and take all possible steps to restore the water body to its original condition. This exercise shall be done within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. This writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
