ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed, invoking Section 482 Cr.P.C., seeking orders to direct the respondent police to expedite the investigation in the case in Crime No.97 of 2022 on the file of the respondent police and to file a final report within a stipulated period.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent would submit that the deceased Saravanakumar, who is the son of the petitioner, and his friend were in a drunken mode at the time of accident and according to the complainant, when they were sitting on the left side of the north side road, one car, which came in a rash and negligent manner, dashed against them and that the said Saravanakumar, who sustained injuries, had succumbed to the injuries. He would further submit that the occurrence place is a remote area and 2/4

that there are no CCTV available at that place and hence, they are not in a position to trace out the vehicle.

4. At this juncture, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that they will give the particulars about the car to the respondent police.

5. Recording the submissions made on either sides, the respondent police is directed to get the particulars from the petitioner and complete the investigation and file a final report in Crime No.97 of 2022 before the jurisdictional Magistrate Court, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
