PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st and 2nd respondents herein to give necessary police protection for conducting the Temple Festival of "Arulmigu Vedhamudaiyar Ayyanar Temple" and "Arulmigu Muthaiah Swami Temple" are situated at Rakudiyendhal Village, Pillur Post, Sivagangai Taluk, Sivagangai District will be schedule on 26.02.2025 to 28.02.2025 based on the petitioner's Representation dated 10.02.2025. O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed directing the 1st and 2nd respondents to give necessary police protection for conducting the Temple Festival of "Arulmigu Vedhamudaiyar Ayyanar Temple" and "Arulmigu Muthaiah Swami Temple" situated at Rakudiyendhal Village, Pillur Post, Sivagangai Taluk, Sivagangai District will be scheduled on 26.02.2025 to 28.02.2025 based on the petitioner's representation, dated 10.02.2025.

2.Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the villagers decided to conduct temple Festival of "Arulmigu Vedhamudaiyar Ayyanar Temple" and "Arulmigu Muthaiah Swami Temple" situated at Rakudiyendhal Village, Pillur Post, Sivagangai Taluk, Sivagangai District, thereby, sent a representation on 10.02.2025, but the same has not been considered by the respondent police. Hence, this petition.

4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 3 and 4 would submit that there is a dispute between the parties in respect of administration of temple. Based on the request made by the 2nd respondent, the respondents 3 and 4 are conducting peace committee meeting. Though the petitioner had been served with notice for two times, he failed to appear for peace committee meeting and filed this writ petition. The respondents 3 and 4 would pass suitable orders after the completion of peace committee meeting. 3/6

5.Since the petitioner has sought prayer to provide police protection to conduct Temple Festival and the respondents 3 and 4 are taking efforts to conduct peace committee meeting, the respondents 3 and 4 are directed to conduct peace committee meeting today (25.02.2025) and pass appropriate orders, in accordance with law. 6.With the above directions and observations, this writ petition stands disposed of.
