ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the fourth respondent to issue Patta to the petitioner in Survey No.242/2, measuring an extent of 54 cents, situated at Unnagulam Village, Nanguneri Taluk, Tirunelveli District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 04.02.2026.
2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the absolute owner and is in peaceful possession and enjoyment of the subject property. The petitioner submitted several applications and also
submitted a representation dated 04.02.2026 to the respondents seeking issuance of Patta. However, despite the lapse of considerable time, no action has been taken on the petitioner's request. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed.
4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1, 2 and 4 would submit that the petitioner's representation will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
5. Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the fourth respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 04.02.2026, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law after providing reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, and any other persons, who may be affected by such decision, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
