O R D E R
The petitioner has approached this Court seeking a direction to the respondent to settle the term deposit amounts deposited by Mrs. Sophia Shanthi in favour of the petitioner by considering and disposing of the petitioner's application dated 19.12.2025 within a stipulated time.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the petitioner belongs to the Christian community and, therefore, the petitioner is required to produce a succession certificate issued by the jurisdictional court under the Indian Succession Act for claiming the amounts.
3. In view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the respondent, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the petitioner to obtain a succession certificate from the jurisdictional court. Upon production of the succession certificate, the respondent shall consider the petitioner's application dated 19.12.2025 in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders as expeditiously as possible.
4. With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
