Heard Mr.V.R.Shanmuganathan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Siddharthan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 4.

2. The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking to issue a direction to the respondents 1 to 4 to approve his appointment as B.T. Assistant (English) in the fifth respondent School with effect from 14.06.2021 by considering the proposal dated 14.08.2021 with all consequential service and monetary benefits within a stipulated time. 2/5

3. The petitioner has been appointed as B.T. Assistant (English) in the fifth respondent School on 14.06.2021 in the vacancy that arose due to the voluntary retirement of S.Mohideen Fathima, Secondary Grade Teacher on 31.12.2020. Subsequently, the School has submitted a proposal to the second respondent through the third respondent on 14.08.2021 for approval of appointment of the petitioner. However, till date, approval was not granted. Hence, the writ petition.

4. Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in the writ petition, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents 2 and 3 to consider the proposal of the fifth respondent School dated 14.08.2021 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
