O R D E R

This Criminal Original petition is filed for issuing a direction to the first respondent, the Inspector of Police, Edamalaipatti Pudhur Police Station, to file a final report in Crime No.459 of 2016.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

3. The petitioner states that she is the defacto complainant and a case was registered in Crime No.459 of 2016 for the offences under Sections 294(b), 323, 289, 506(i) of I.P.C., and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2004.

4. Though the case was registered on 24.12.2016, learned counsel for the petitioner states that there was no further enquiry or investigation and that therefore a direction by this Court will be in the interest of justice.

5. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor however on instructions submitted that the investigation is under process and final report is likely to be filed within a period of three months.

6. Recording the said statement, the Criminal Original petition is allowed and the first respondent is directed to complete the investigation and to file final report in Crime No.459 of 2016 within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
