ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the 1st respondent to withdraw the investigation of the FIR in Crime No.154/2022 from the file of the 2nd respondent to transfer the same to the 3rd respondent or any other competent and suitable investigation officer.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the de facto complainant, on whose instance, an FIR in Crime No. 154 of 2022 was registered for offences under Sections 454 and 380 of the IPC, in respect of a house-breaking incident at the petitioner's residence, during which 411⁄2 sovereigns of gold jewellery were looted by unknown persons. However, even after a lapse of three years, there has been no significant progress in the investigation, and therefore, the petitioner has sought the indulgence of this Court.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent police submitted that as many as seven witnesses were enquired and the 2/4

investigation is still pending without any fruitful result in detecting the offenders.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either sides and carefully perused the materials available on record.

5. Considering the quantum of the gold looted from the petitioner's house, the third respondent police is directed to conclude the investigation as expeditiously as possible within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and he is further directed to appraise the progress of the investigation to the first respondent every Friday. The first respondent is directed to monitor the investigation conducted by the third respondent.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
