Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to permit the petitioner to conduct "Adal Padal" cultural program during Avani Pongal festival in Arulmighu Sri Pathirakaliamman, Sri Kilakathiyan, Sri Muthumadasamy Temple, Marthandampatti Village, Vilathikulam Taluk, Thoothukudi District, on 10.07.2019 from 09.00 P.M. to 12.00 A.M., and to provide adequate police protection.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to permit the petitioner to conduct "Adal Padal" cultural program during Avani Pongal festival in Arulmighu Sri Pathirakaliamman, Sri Kilakathiyan, Sri Muthumadasamy Temple, Marthandampatti Village, Vilathikulam Taluk, Thoothukudi District, on 10.07.2019 from 09.00 P.M. to 12.00 A.M., and to provide adequate police protection.

2. Heard both sides.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that seeking permission and police protection to conduct the "Adal Padal" cultural program, on 10.07.2019 in connection with "Avani Pongal Festival" of the above said temple, the petitioner has given a representation on 18.06.2019 to the second respondent and the said representation was not considered so far. Hence, the present Writ Petition has been filed for the aforesaid relief.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merits of the case, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 18.06.2019 and pass suitable orders on merits and in accordance with law, forthwith.

5. The Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
