Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the second respondent/de-facto complainant is present before this Court. His identity is duly verified by the first respondent police also. The parties have amicably settled the dispute between themselves. Therefore, no useful purpose will be served in permitting the prosecution to continue. Therefore, the impugned proceedings relating to C.C.No.147 of 2014 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court, Karaikudi, Sivagangai District, shall stand quashed and this Criminal Original Petition is allowed accordingly.
