ORDER

This petition has been filed by the petitioners to direct the 2nd respondent not to harass the petitioners based on the representation dated 13.02.2025 in accordance with law.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners are the in-laws of the 3rd respondent and the marriage between the son of the 1st and 2nd petitioners and 3rd respondent was solemnized on 19.11.2023. Thereafter, due to the family dispute between the 3rd respondent and her husband, the 3rd respondent lodged a false complaint as against the petitioners. Based on the said complaint, the 2nd respondent police have frequently called the petitioners to appear for enquiry and started to harass the petitioners. Therefore, they sent a representation dated 13.02.2025 and the same has not been considered. Hence, they have filed this petition.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents no.1 and 2 would submit that based on the complaint given by the 3rd respondent, they conducted an enquiry. For enquiry purpose only, they called the petitioners and they have not harassed the petitioners as alleged in the petition. However, the said complaint was Page no.2/4

transferred to the Vadamadurai Police Station on the ground of territorial jurisdiction. Therefore, nothing survives for further adjudication.

4. Considering the limited prayer sought for in the petition, this Court even without issuing notice to the 3rd respondent inclined to dispose of the petition by recording the above said submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor that the complaint was transferred to the Vadamadurai Police Station and they have not harassed the petitioners.
