COMMON PRAYER: Writ Petitions are filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent i.e., the Director of Technical Education, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the proposals sent by the Principal of the Mohamed Sathak Polytechnic College, Kilakarai in his Letter No.E1/475/2014, dated 23.10.2014 for fixing the Grade Pay of Rs.4,400/- in respect of the petitioners in the post of Special Grade Electrician as per the orders of the Government, within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

For R1 : Mr. Aayiram K. Selvakumar Additional Government Pleader in both W.Ps.

COMMON ORDER These Writ Petitions have been filed for issuing a direction to the first respondent to pass appropriate orders on the proposals sent by the Principal of the Mohamed Sathak Polytechnic College, Kilakarai in his Letter No.E1/475/2014, dated 23.10.2014, for fixing the Grade Pay of Rs.4,400/-, in respect of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the petitioners in the post of Special Grade Electricians, as per the orders of the Government, within the time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that though the proposal relating to the petitioners have been forwarded to the first respondent on 23.10.2014, the same has not been considered by them and hence, petitioners have sent a representation, dated 23.06.2017, to the first respondent and the same is also pending without consideration. In such circumstances, the petitioners have come forward before this Court.

3. The learned learned Additional Government Pleader, who is appearing on behalf of the first respondent, submitted that the first respondent would consider the claim of the petitioner in the light of the proposal sent by the second respondent as well as the Government Orders.

4. In view of the above submissions, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the first respondent to consider the claim of the petitioner as per the proposal forwarded to them on 23.10.2014, by the second respondent and also considering the representations of the petitioners, dated 23.06.2017, and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioners, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, these Writ Petitions are disposed of. No costs.
