PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to permit the petitioner to withdraw a sum of Rs.7,00,000/- available in his PF Account No.10085 on the file of the first respondent Trust within the time limit fixed by this Court so as to enable him to meet out marriage expenses of his son which scheduled to be held on 30.04.2025.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to permit the petitioner to withdraw a sum of Rs.7,00,000/- available in his Provident Fund account on the file of the first respondent, to enable him to meet out marriage expenses of his son which is scheduled to be held on 30.04.2025.

2. The petitioner is working as Special Grade Driver Level-5, due date of his retirement is 30.04.2028. The petitioner is a member of TamilNadu State Transport Corporation (Madurai) Limited Employees Provident Fund Trust. As on date a sum of Rs.8,65,958/- is lying to the credit of his Provident Fund Account on the file of the first respondent. He made an application on 11.02.2025 to the fourth respondent to allow him to withdraw Rs.7,00,000/- from his Provident Fund Account, to meet out his sons marriage expenses. No action was taken as against the application of the writ petitioner. Hence, he approach this Court by filing this present writ petition. 2/4

3. On instructions, Mr.Gladson Michael Rajadurai, learned Standing Counsel for the respondents would submit that amount of Rs.5,10,000/- being the eligible amount to withdraw by the petitioner from his Provident Fund account and to that effect, a cheque was issued to the petitioner on 03.03.2025.

4. In view of the above facts, in my considered view, no further adjudication is required in this case. Accordingly, this writ petition is closed. No costs.
