P RAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant patta based on the proceedings of the third respondent under RTR Nagaralavai: 347/12, dated 24.02.2012 within the time frame fixed by this Court. ORDER
The petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ of Mandamus seeking issuance of patta to the petitioner based on the proceedings of the Tahsildar the third respondent, dated 24.02.2012.
2. Considering the limited scope of relief sought for in the writ petition, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal with the consent of the learned counsel on either side.
3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though the Tahsildar has recommended to grant patta as early as on 24.02.2012, thereafter, no steps have been taken and the petitioner is unable to locate 2/6
his name in the computerised Revenue Records. The petitioner has, therefore, filed the present writ petition seeking issuance of patta in his favour. The petitioner has also given a representation on 17.01.2025 to the revenue authorities.
4.Mr.B.Saravanan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the official respondents, on written instructions, would submit that the patta in respect of the subject lands are mutated in the name of one Mariammal, S/o.Subramanian and therefore, suitable directions may be issued to the second respondent Revenue Divisional Officer to conduct an enquiry and pass final orders.

Considering the submissions advanced by the learned counsel on either side, it would suffice to direct the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 17.01.2025 taking into account the proceedings of the third respondent in RTR Nagaralavi 347/12, dated 24.02.2012 and after affording an opportunity by way of personal hearing to the petitioner as well as Mariammal, W/o.Subramanian, in whose name Patta currently stands, the second 3/6
respondent shall pass final orders on merits, in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
