PRAYER: Petition - filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records relating to the impugned order of the 1st respondent dated 04.04.2018 refusing to grant permission to make protest on the ground of law and order problem quash the same and consequently direct the respondents herein to grant permission to the petitioner to convene a public meeting to make protest in accordance with law.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner made a representation to the second respondent to conduct a public meeting. But, the said representation was rejected by the second respondent and another representation was made by the petitioner to the first respondent on 09.04.2018 to conduct a public meeting on 13.04.2018. The date sought for by the petitioner is now lapsed and therefore, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner seeks liberty to make a fresh https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

representation to the first respondent seeking permission in the alternative place.

2. In view of the above, no further adjudication is necessary in the present writ petition. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to approach the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Alagulam, Tirunelveli District, to make a fresh representation, if he is so advised. No costs.
