ORDER
The petitioner was the licensee of the Regional Transport Officer, Palani, Dindigul District, for servicing of taxi and auto rickshaw fare electronic meters and sealing the inspected digital meters. A licence was issued to him by the respondent for a period of one year from 16.09.2016 to 15.09.2017 as per Rule 234-A of the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989. The said licence expired on 16.09.2017. Even though the petitioner expresses desire for renewal of licence, the respondent has not considered the same and orders have not been passed so far.
2. As per Rule 234-A of the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, a person desirous of undertaking the work of repair or adjustment of taxi meters, shall receive the approval of the Regional Transport Authority.
3. Even though the petitioner has sought for a larger prayer of renewal of licence, would restrict his request for consideration of his application by the respondent within a specified time limit.

In view of the request made by the learned Counsel for the petitioner, this Court is inclined to direct the respondent to consider the application made by the petitioner for renewal of licence made by the petitioner, dated 19.09.2017 and pass orders on the same within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of as above. No costs.
