Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to pay consolidated wages of Rs.13,725/- to the employees working under second respondent's Municipality as sweepers, temporary employees, daily wage employees, adhoc appointees, casual workers and contractual employees pursuant to the G.O.Ms.2(D) No.62 dated 11.10.2017 within stipulated time fixed by this Court. ORDER

The prayer in this writ petition is for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to pay consolidated wages of Rs.13,725/- to the employees working under second respondent's Municipality as sweepers, temporary employees, daily wage employees, adhoc appointees, casual workers and contractual employees, pursuant to G.O.Ms.2(D) No.62 dated 11.10.2017 within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

2.Heard Mr.S.Mohan Gandhi, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.S.Angappan, learned Government Advocate for the first respondent and Mr.P.Mahendran, learned counsel for the second respondent. 3.In order to get some wages, the petitioner/Association made a representation to the second respondent/Municipality on 18.09.2018 for its Members, Sweepers and all that the learned counsel for the petitioner wants that the said representation dated 18.09.2018 be directed to be considered on merits and order to that effect is passed within a time frame.

4.The learned Standing Counsel for the second respondent would submit that, the said representation of the petitioner dated 18.09.2018 would be decided and final order would be passed on merits and in accordance with law within the time frame. 5.Considering the limited scope of the said prayer sought for in this writ petition, this Court with the consent of both sides dispose of this writ petition at the admission stage itself with the following direction:- (i) that the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 18.09.2018 and pass orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

No costs.
