Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to pay appropriate and reasonable compensation for the petitiones land to be acquired in S.No. 291/1B and 1C at Inungur Village, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District under the scheme of the Kaveri-Vaigai-Gundar Link Canal Project in all reasonable categories along with the compensation from the date of the notification to date of realization of the amount pursuant to the petitioner's representation dated 20.01.2024 within a time stipulated by this Court. Heard the learned counsel on either side.
2. The petitioner's land has been acquired under the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2017. The case of the petitioner is that the standing trees have not been fully taken into account. The petitioner has given objection. Before passing the award, the petitioner's objection shall be taken into account. If the petitioner is still not satisfied with the award, the petitioner can certainly seek reference under Section 64 of the Act.

3. With this direction to the competent authority and granting liberty to the petitioner in the manner aforesaid, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
