ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by J.NISHA BANU, J.) The petitioner has sought for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to redeploy the surplus teachers who are working in Government Elementary School and Government Aided Elementary Schools in the light of G.O.(Standing)No.146 dated 28.06.2024 by considering petitioner's representation dated 05.02.2025 within a time frame stipulated by this Court. 2.

The petitioner has sought for redeployment of excess teachers in the light of G.O.(Standing)No.146, whereby, the School 2/4

Education Department has formulated certain guidelines with regard to redeployment of surplus teachers working in High / Higher Secondary Schools. Whether a particular school is running with surplus teachers or not is depending upon the staff fixation order and the redeployment of surplus teachers to the needy schools is the domain of the educational authorities. This Court cannot intervene and order for redeployment in a public interest litigation, unless it finds that such redeployment is not in consonance with the guidelines and the relevant rules. Therefore, such a blanket Mandamus cannot be issued. We are of the view that under the garb of public interest litigation, the petitioner wants publicity.

3.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. [J.N.B, J.] [S.S.Y, J.] 25.03.2025 Index : Yes / No bala 3/4
