ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed to issue Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to extend the period of validity time of the petitioner's passport bearing No.A7885324 vide File No.TR1079406631516.
2. It is seen from the records that a criminal case in C.C.No.223 of 2015 is pending against the petitioner on the file of the Judicial Magistrate-I, Kumbakonam.
3. In view of the fact that there is a criminal case pending against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant the relief sought for in this writ petition. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to make an application to the Judicial Magistrate-I, Kumbakonam to extend the period of validity time of the
passport. On receipt of such application, the Judicial Magistrate-I, Kumbakonam shall pass orders on merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
