ORDER
The prayer in this writ petition is for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the second respondent to assess the house tax in the name of the petitioner pertaining to the property comprised in Pula No.156/3 bearing Door No.210/5 situated at Thiruvallur Village, Ilayangudi Taluk, Sivagangai District based on the petitioner's representation dated 20.05.2019, within a time frame as fixed by this Court.
2.Heard Mr.B.Prahalad Ravi, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Rajarajan, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.
3.In order to assess the property tax of the petitioner's property in Pula No.156/3 bearing Door No.210/5 situated at Thiruvallur Village, Ilayangudi Taluk, Sivagangai District, the petitioner has made a representation dated 20.05.2019 to the second respondent. representation is directed to be considered by the second respondent and orders to be passed thereon, within a time frame. 4.Heard Mr.M.Rajarajan, learned Government Advocate for the respondents, who would submit that, the representation of the petitioner dated 20.05.2019 would be considered by the second respondent on its own merits and while considering the same, the entitlement of the petitioner to seek such assessment also to be decided by the second respondent, after giving an opportunity to the petitioner to produce the document in support of his case and at any rate, within a time, final order would be passed by the second respondent.
5.Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in this writ petition, this Court is inclined to dispose of this writ petition at the admission stage with consent of both parties, with the following directions:- that the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.05.2019 and pass order thereon, after giving an opportunity of being heard to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. No costs.
