ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2 and 3 to update the Village revenue records in respect of the land in S.No.181/55 in Kulathupatti Group, Singampunari Taluk, Sivagangai District, by implementing the order passed by the third respondent in Na.Ka.A2/4890/2018, dated 20.05.2022, by considering the representation dated 03.03.2025.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Since no adverse orders are going to be passed against the fourth respondent, notice to the fourth respondent is hereby dispensed with.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the subject property was assigned to the petitioner under the Landless Poor Scheme by the

Government. However, the fourth respondent has claimed ownership of the property pursuant to Patta No.1407. Accordingly, the petitioner approached the third respondent, who, vide proceedings dated 20.05.2022, cancelled the Patta issued in favour of the fourth respondent and recommended to update the Village revenue records. Seeking to have the revenue records updated, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 03.03.2025. Since there has been no progress on the same, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.

5. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 submits that the petitioner's representation will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law.

Recording the aforesaid submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 03.03.2025, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The second respondent is directed to provide reasonable opportunity during such

enquiry to the petitioner, the fourth respondent and any other persons, who may be affected by such decision. Needless to state that in the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to work out their remedies before the Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
