O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the trial Court to expedite the proceedings in Crl.A.No.8 of 2013 on the file of the Principal District and Sessions Court, Srivilliputhur, Virudhunagar District.

2.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner filed a case before the lower Court under Section 138 r/w Section 142 of Negotiable Instrument Act. After the trial, the lower court convicted the respondent herein. As against the respondent filed an appeal before the lower appellate Court and the same is pending from the year 2013 onwards. Hence, this complainant/petitioner filed the present petition to expedite the appeal. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the appeal is pending for past 4 years without any progress, it would suffice to issue direction to the lower appellate Court to expedite the appeal within time frame fixed by this Court. 4.Considering the limited prayer sought for by the learned counsel for the petitioner, without going into merits, this Court is inclined to issue direction to the lower Appellate Court to expedite the appeal within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
