ORDER
The Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to the Respondents to sanction second increment to the Petitioner for completing M.Ed. course as per G.O.Ms.No.747, Finance (Pay Cell) Department, dated 18.08.1986 as well as G.O.Ms.No.160, School Education (M2) Department, dated 02.12.2004.
2. Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.
3. The case of the petitioner is that she was joining as a Block Resource Teacher Educator with effect from 17.06.2006 at Senthil Murugan Government Woman Higher Secondary School, Thiruchendur. Subsequently, she was promoted as PG Assistant (Commerce) with effect from 26.06.2014 at the third respondent school. Thereafter, the petitioner completed M.Ed., course after obtaining prior permission from the concern department. Thereafter, the petitioner sent representations 07.08.2018, 15.10.2018 and 19.11.2018 to the respondents seeking to grant second increment. However, the same have not been considered. Therefore, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing this writ petition.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the representations of the petitioners would be considered by the respondents on merits, within a time frame as fixed by this Court.
5. Considering the nature of the relief sought for by the petitioners and having regard to the submissions made by the learned Counsel on either side, without going into the merits of the case, the respondents are directed to consider the representations of the petitioner dated 07.08.2018, 15.10.2018 and 19.11.2018 seeking to grant second increment and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. The Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
