O R D E R

Heard, the learned Counsel for the petitioner, Mr.D.Sachikumar, the learned Additional Government Pleader for Respondent Nos.1,3,4 & 5 and Mr.P.Gunasekaran, the learned Standing Counsel for the Respondent No.2 and perused the material available on record.

2. The petitioner worked as Assistant Block Development Officer in the Panchayat and Rural Welfare Department. As per the proceedings passed by the third respondent dated 31.08.2023, she was permitted for voluntary retirement from service. The petitioner sent a representation to the respondents to settle the monetary benefits after her voluntary retirement. But, there is no action by the respondents. Finally, she sent a representation to the respondents on 05.02.2025, request to disbursing her retirement benefits. But, no fruitful action taken by the respondents.

3. The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is suffered with Hepatitis, slurring speech, neuro disorders and as such it is essential to disburse her terminal/retirement benefits to meet out her medical expenses immediately.

During the course of hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader has placed a copy of the order issued by the sixth respondent dated 14.03.2023 and submits that proceedings are issued authorizing the Block Development Officer (V.P), Ramanathapuram to draw a sum of Rs.13,89,436/- by presenting the bill in the Sub-Treasury, Ramanathapuram. He further submits that within short time the said amount will be disbursed to the petitioner.

Considering the submissions made by the learned Additional Government Pleader and on perusal of the order dated 14.03.2025 issued by the sixth respondent, in our considered opinion that without going into the merits of the case this writ petition can be disposed of with a direction to the eighth respondent to take steps to disburse the said amount as expeditiously as possible within a time to be stipulated herein under to meet the interest of justice. 4/8

6. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the eighth respondent to take steps to disburse the amount of Rs.13,89,436/- to the petitioner as authorized by the sixth respondent in a letter dated 14.03.2025 within a period of two weeks from today.

There shall be no order as to costs.
