ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation, dated 26.12.2019, within a stipulated time.

2.According to learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner has made a representation to the first respondent seeking payment of compensation for the lands acquired for laying the National Highways Road.

3.According to the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents, the classification of the land has been inspected by the authorities concerned and the same has been placed before the District Collector for taking action. However, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that so far no order has been communicated to the petitioner.

4.At this juncture, Mr.C.Arul Vadivel @ Sekar, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the National Highways Department, though they are not a party in the Writ Petition, submitted that the entire compensation amount has been deposited before the first respondent. It is for the first respondent to enquire into the matter and disburse the compensation amount to the petitioner, if she is otherwise eligible.

5.Taking note of the above said facts and the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the parties, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 26.12.2019 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, in any event, not later than four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
