O R D E R

This petition is filed for issuing a direction to the respondent to file a final report in Crime No.624 of 2016 dated 23.10.2016 on the file of the respondent Police within a time frame fixed by this Court.

2. The petitioner states that the elected President of Urappanur Panchayat along with some individuals misappropriated huge sum. It is further stated by him that the petitioner has lodged a complaint on 23.10.2016 furnishing several particulars exposing the nature of irregularities committed by the accused thereby misappropriating the accounts meant for disbursement to old women and men.

3. Since the allegation is that the proposed accused have misappropriated huge funds which should be meant for disbursing to the beneficiaries under the Government schemes, this Court is of the view that suitable direction should be issued to the respondent to expedite the investigation and to file a final report.

4. In the result, the Criminal Original Petition is allowed and the respondent Police is directed to complete the investigation and file a Final Report in Crime No.624 of 2016, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
