Respondents Prayer: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent i.e. the Director of Tamil Nadu State Health Transport Department, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 28.02.2018 regarding re-fixation of his seniority in the cadre of Special Artisan as per the earlier confirmed list dated 29.03.2016 within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

The prayer sought for in this writ petition is for a writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent i.e. the Director of Tamil Nadu State Health Transport Department, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 28.02.2018 regarding re-fixation of his seniority in the cadre of Special Artisan as per the earlier confirmed list dated 29.03.2016 within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

2.Heard Mr.S.Visvalingam, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.D.Muruganantham, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that with regard to his grievances for refixation of his seniority, he had given a representation to the first respondent on 28.02.2018 and if the said representation is directed to be considered and an order to that effect is directed to be passed, the petitioner would be satisfied.

4.I have heard the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent in this regard.

5.In view of the innocuous prayer as the petitioner made now in this writ petition as projected by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court is inclined to dispose of this writ petition, at the admission stage, with the consent of both sides, with the following direction.

6.The first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 28.02.2018 and pass reasoned orders thereon, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.With this direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
