O R D E R

Sarasvathi Mahalingam, an age-old woman, came forward with this petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C., seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent, namely, Inspector of Police, S.S.Colony Police Station, Madurai, to register a criminal case as against Rajendran and certain others, investigate and file the final report before the concerned Court.

2. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, Rajendran and Co., cheated the petitioner by saying that they will admit her in a Home for Age-Old Persons and received Rs.1,65,000/- and also her gold articles. But, they did not so. In this connection, she had given a complaint before the 2nd respondent, namely, Inspector of Police, S.S.Colony Police Station, Madurai City, and also sent a copy of the said complaint to the 1st respondent, namely, Commissioner of Police, Madurai. However, as on date there is no effective action.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submitted that a complaint from the petitioner has been received by the Inspector of Police, S.S.Colony Police Station, Madurai, and it is pending consideration for action.

4. In the facts and circumstances, ordered as under: (i) The 2nd respondent, namely, Inspector of Police, S.S.Colony Police Station, Madurai, is directed to enquire the complaint of the petitioner, dated 18.06.2016 and if it disclose any cognizable offence, register a case and investigate according to law and file the final report before the concerned Court.

(ii)A copy of this Order shall also be sent to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Thilagar Thidal Range, Madurai City Police.
