PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India,praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to issue the patta in the petitioner's name in S.No.13/1 to an extent of 2 cents situated at Ayyanarpuram, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 18.02.2020.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to issue patta to the land in S.No.13/1 measuring to an extent of 2 cents situated at Ayyanarpuram, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District.

2.According to the petitioner, she made a representation on 18.02.2020 to the 1st respondent for issuing patta in her name to the land in S.No.13/1 measuring to an extent of 2 cents in Ayyanarpuram, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District. But, no action has been taken till date. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court for the relief stated supra.

3.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the said property has been classified as "Odai Poramboke". Therefore, the relief sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted.

W.P.(MD)No.5207 of 2020 4.In view of the arguments advanced by the learned counsel on either side, this Court is inclined to pass the following direction:- "The respondents are directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.02.2020 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, as expeditiously as possible. It is made clear that this Court is not issuing any positive directions to the respondents. The respondents have to independently consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.02.2020 as per the relevant Act and Rules." 5.This Writ Petition is disposed of, with the above direction. No costs.
