Challenging the case in Crime No.118 of 2015 on the file of the respondent police, the present petition has been filed.

2. The learned Counsel for the petitioners submitted that the trees were cut off in pursuant to the permission granted.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that even the proceedings held upon the petitioner merely authorised the formation of the committee to remove the Veli Karuvai Trees grown in the irrigation channel, Tank and private places, for the purpose of filing the report by the Government and there is no specific authorisation for cutting the trees.

4. The question as to whether the petitioners cut the trees without authorisation is a matter for investigation. The allegation is very specific. Therefore, this petition is dismissed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
