ORDER
The writ petition filed in the nature of a mandamus directing the respondents, namely, the Executive Engineer, TANGEDCO, Valliyoor and the Assistant Engineer, Thisayanvilai, Tirunelveli District to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.12.2019, which has been given for electricity service connection for running a pump set in agricultural property in S.No.646/2 at Muthumothanmozhi Village, Tirunelveli District. 2.The petitioner has been seeking the electricity service connection for nearly about 30 years. Originally, his father Pauldurai Nadar had given an application in the year 1991. That application was disposed of in the year 1997. His father in the meanwhile, unfortunately, expired. Thereafter, among the sons, partition was effected and land, now for which, electricity service connection, is sought has been allotted to the petitioner herein. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2
W.P.(MD)No.5249 of 2020 The petitioner had also given a representation. Since there was no action taken on the same, he filed a writ petition in W.P.(MD) No.9541/2019. Though a direction was issued in the said writ petition, there was no compliance of the said direction. Therefore, he had to file a contempt petition. Pending contempt petition, the respondents had passed an order dated 17.08.2019. In the said order, which is a notice, it was stated that the petitioner should give relevant documents and then his representation/application would be considered.
3. It is the grievance of the petitioner that thereafter on 27.12.2019, he had given a representation along with the relevant documents or documents, which were in his possession. However, till date, no action has been taken and hence, he is before this Court with this present writ petition.
4. In view of the above, a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the said representation dated 27.12.2019 as application seeking electricity service connection. The respondents may examine the said representation/application and invite the petitioner to appear before the first respondent either on 23.03.2020 or 24.03.2020 and grant him an opportunity of being heard, if a proper application is to be given, give him guidance for giving such application and thereafter consider grant of electricity service connection on or before 17.04.2020.
5. The Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
