*********** This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondent to expedite the appeal proceedings pending on the file of the respondent.
2.By order dated 14.08.2007, passed by the respondent the matter was remanded back for fresh consideration to the District Revenue Officer, Sivagangai District. Thereafter, the said DRO, Sivagangai District vide order dated 26.07.2016 passed an order dismissing the plea of the petitioner raised against the illegal cancellation of the assignment. Aggrieved by the said order, the petitioner has preferred an appeal before the respondent on 01.09.2016. According to the petitioner, the appeal is pending in Letter No.G2/17120/2016 from the year 2016 onwards. The petitioner seeks early disposal of the statutory appeal. In such circumstances, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.
3.Heard Mr.K.R.Laxman, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.D.Sasikumar, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.
4.No prejudice would be caused to the respondent if the petitioner's statutory appeal pending on the file of the respondent https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2
W.P.[MD]No.4794 of 2022 in Letter No.G2/17120/2016 filed on 01.09.2016 is disposed of within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
5.Accordingly, this Court directs the respondent to pass final orders in the petitioner's appeal under Letter No.G2/17120/2016 dated 01.09.2016, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner within four [4] months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
