This Writ petition is filed for issuing a direction to the respondents to grant permission and adequate police protection for conducting Kabadi tournament at Thirumalaiyru (Manthai Thidal), Near Thiruparankundram, Madurai District held on 21.04.2018 and 22.04.2018 at 8.00 pm on the event of the 3rd year Kabadi Tournament.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the villagers have organized the Kabadi Tournament on 21.04.2018 and 22.04.2018 at 8.00 pm at the place known as Thirumalaiyru (Manthai Thidal), Near Thiruparankundram, Madurai District.

4. Though the representation given by the petitioner before the respondents, it is stated that so far they have not considered the representation. It is in the said context, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, is inclined to pass the following directions:

(a) The petitioner shall submit the copy of the representation along with this order to the 2nd respondent. (b) The 2nd respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 09.04.2018 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, on or before 20.04.2018.

(c) In case the second respondent decide to permit the petitioner to conduct the event as it was scheduled by the petitioner, the same will be subject to the usual conditions or any other reasonable conditions, so as to ensure the law and order and communal harmony.

5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
