ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The petitioner, who is arrayed as accused No.1, apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 6(4) of TNSC (RDCS) Order of 1982 r/w. 7 (1)(a)(ii) of EC Act in Crime No.83 of 2016, seeks anticipatory bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that on receiving information that PDS rice has been transported, the respondent Police checked the Lorry bearing Regn. No.TN 38-AB-7555 and found that PDS rice bags have been concealed in the salt bag. It is further alleged that the petitioners have involved in transporting the PDS rice.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners are innocent and they have not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution and their names have been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the petitioner has no knowledge of the PDS rice in the Lorry and prayed for granting anticipatory bail in favour of the petitioner.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that 9300 kgs of PDS rice meant for poor people were smuggled by the petitioners to sell at higher price and it was valued about Rs.52,000/- and the investigation of the case is pending and the petition filed by the co-accused was also dismissed on 05.07.2016 in Crl.O.P(MD)No.11059 of 2016.

5. Considering the serious nature of allegations levelled against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
