ORDER

This Criminal Original petition is filed for issuing a direction to the respondent to file a final report in Crime No.213 of 2016 on the file of the respondent in accordance with law.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3. It is stated that the complaint was lodged by the petitioner and the same was registered against six persons in Crime No.213 of 2016 for the alleged offences under Sections 147, 323 and 506(i) of I.P.C. It is further stated that though the complaint was registered on 28.05.2016, there was no progress and that therefore, the petitioner was constrained to approach this Court for a direction.

4. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instructions submitted that Wound Certificate is awaited.

5. This Court is not able to appreciate the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor. The case was registered in the year 2016. Even after the lapse of 17 months, this Court is not able to appreciate the reason for the delay.

6. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, the Criminal Original petition is allowed and the respondent is directed to expedite the investigation and to file final report in Crime No.213 of 2016 within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
