P RAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondent No.3 to delete the wrong entry of the petitioner's patta land comprised in Survey No.276/3 situated in Kamarajapuram Village, Uppukottai revenue Village, Bodinayakanur, Theni District as Government land in revenue records subsequently direct the respondent No.3 to re-issue the patta in the petitioner's name based on the petitioner's representation dated 04.02.2025.

ORDER

The petitioner filed the present writ petition seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the third respondent to remove the wrong classification of the petitioner's patta land as Government lands.

2. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would bring to my notice that even in the petitioner's representation to the third respondent, the third respondent has referred the error having crept during the UDR survey and hence, he would 2/5

submit that the competent authority would be the District Revenue Officer.

3. Considering the above, the petitioner is given liberty to make a representation to the second respondent District Revenue Officer seeking necessary corrections to the UDR records within a period two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of any such application from the petitioner within two weeks, the second respondent shall conduct an enquiry and pass suitable orders on the petitioner's request for correction of the UDR records in accordance with law and on its own merits within a period of twelve weeks thereafter.

4. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
