O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed directing the first respondent to provide police protection for the Maha Shivaratri festival to be held on 25.02.2025 and 26.02.2025 at Arulmigu Angala Paramewari Sonaiyaswami Temple, Arapalayam, Madurai on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 21.02.2025. 2.According to the petitioner, in order to celebrate Maha Shivaratri festival on 25.02.2025 and 26.02.2025 at Arulmigu Angala Paramewari Sonaiyaswami Temple, Arapalayam, Madurai, the petitioner gave a representation dated 21.02.2025 to the respondents for permission as police protection but the same was not considered. Hence, this petition.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the first respondent would submit that already there was a dispute between the parties in respect of conducting festival. In this regard, a peace committee meeting was convened and in the meeting both parties agreed to conduct the festival peacefully.

4.Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

5.Since both parties amicably settled their disputes between them and agreed to conduct the festival peacefully, this Court is inclined to dispose of the writ petition at the admission stage itself, without issuing notice to the private respondents.

6.In view of the above, this Court hereby direct the first respondent to provide adequate police protection for the temple festival in the interest of public.

7.With the above said observations and directions, this writ petition stands disposed of.
