O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to issue Non-Traceable Certificate in respect of the missing documents Viz., Original Sale Deed in Document No. 1629/1986 and Document No. 1630/1986 on the file of Sub Registrar, Srirangam in the light of the Circular issued by the Director General of Police in Rc. No. 2029209/General.4(1)/2022 dated 01.04.2022 in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court.

2.According to the petitioner, the petition mentioned property belongs to his father, who died on 13.10.2021. Thereafter, on 16.10.2024 at about 02.15 p,m, the petitioner went to Mannachanallur Taluk Office. At that time, in order to take xerox copy of the document No.1629/1986 and 1630/1986, he went to Pasumai Xerox shop situated opposite to Mannachanallur Taluk Office and thereafter, the said 2/5

documents were found missing. Therefore, he lodged a complaint on 17.10.2024 before the second respondent but the same has not been considered. The Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu has issued a circular in Rc.No.2029209/General.4(1)/2022, dated 01.04.2022. But the same has also not been followed by the second respondent. Hence this petition.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police would submit that the petitioner has not appeared for enquiry and he has not co-operated for the same. Therefore, enquiry is still pending. If the petitioner appears for enquiry, then the respondent police will consider the same and disposed of it in accordance with law. 4.Since the second respondent has admitted the receipt of the petitioner's complaint and stated that the petitioner has not co-operated for the enquiry, the petitioner is directed to appear before the second respondent on 12.03.2025 and thereafter, the second respondent is directed to complete the enquiry within a period of fifteen days in accordance with law.
