Respondents in both petitions COMMON PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to pay a sum of Rs.7,650/- per acre towards compensation for crop failure for the season 2016-2017 under the Crop Insurance Scheme for the 14.28 acres, 22.98 acres within the stipulated time by this Court.

2. The writ petitioners are agriculturists. They are owning lands in Ondipulinayakkanur Village, Virudhunagar Taluk. The petitioners had insured their crops. They suffered crop failure. However, the first respondent, who is the sponsoring agency, appears to have given erroneous particulars with regard to the writ petitioners' village. Instead of mentioning the petitioners' village as Ondipulinayakkanur, the first respondent in his proposal https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

had wrongly mentioned the petitioners' village as that of Thathampatti. As a result, the petitioners would not get their due compensation.

3. This Court therefore directs the first respondent to send a revised proposal to the third respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The third respondent shall consider the case of the petitioners and disburse the amounts due as per the Scheme within a period of four weeks, therefore.

4. These Writ Petitions are disposed of accordingly. No costs. Eventhough this Court has issued the directions only in the case of two claimants, it is open to the first respondent to include in the revised proposal the details pertaining to similarly placed farmers also.
